About
Kaizen is an e-commerce platform I developed for university to simplify purchasing nutritional supplements. I addressed challenges like product selection and building trust in quality by conducting user research, creating wireframes, and detailed mockups to enhance the user experience and streamline the buying process.
Challenges
This was my first UX/UI project. One of the challenges was balancing functionality and visual design to create a smooth user experience. I had to plan the customer journey—browsing, adding to cart, and checkout—while keeping everything simple and clear. The product page was also a challenge; I made sure the information was easy to understand without overwhelming the user.
Solution
To tackle these challenges, I started by benchmarking popular e-commerce websites for nutritional supplements. I analyzed their designs, user flows, and product pages to identify what worked and what didn’t. This helped me incorporate effective features and avoid common pitfalls. I used Adobe XD to create wireframes and high-fidelity mockups, refining the design to keep it both functional and user-friendly.

Key Takeaways
This project was a valuable learning experience in UX/UI design. It gave me hands-on experience with wireframes, user flows, and mockups. It sparked my interest in UX/UI and highlighted the importance of balancing function and aesthetics. I look forward to continuing to develop my skills in this field.
